Recommended sightseeing spots around Mt. Fuji🗻
September 12, 2025
Hello, we are Toyoko Inn Bus!
The Yoshida Fire Ceremony , which marks the end of summer at Mt. Fuji , came to an end, and Mt. Fuji closed for the season on September 10th. The summer season for mountain climbing has ended, but there are still plenty of attractive spots around Mt. Fuji, regardless of the season!
So this time, we will introduce some recommended tourist spots around Mt. Fuji.

1.Fuji Subaru Line 5th Station
You may be thinking, "Isn't Mt. Fuji closed already?", but in fact, you can visit up to the 5th station of the Fuji Subaru Line at any time except when the road is closed due to snow accumulation 😆
There are many noteworthy spots there, such as Mt. Fuji Komitake Shrine and Gogoen Rest House ✨In addition to the spectacular views, you can also enjoy gourmet food and shopping ♪

Their specialty, the "Mount Fuji Melon Bread," is crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside! Be sure to try it 😋

For those who want to enjoy the natural beauty of Mt. Fuji, we recommend the Onchu-do and Okuniwa Promenades! There are easy walking paths, and as autumn approaches, the autumn leaves and lingonberries will delight your eyes🍂

2.Lake Kawaguchiko
When it comes to sightseeing around Mt. Fuji, Lake Kawaguchiko is the place to go! It's a classic spot that can be recommended all year round✨

First, take the "Lake Kawaguchiko Mt. Fuji Panoramic Ropeway" to get a panoramic view of Mt. Fuji and Lake Kawaguchiko! The unobstructed view of Mt. Fuji is a sight you definitely want to see at least once👍

↓ For more details about the ropeway , please see the blog post from July 9, 2025. ↓

Crossing the Kawaguchiko Ohashi Bridge and heading west along the north shore, you'll arrive at an area lined with art museums, including the Kawaguchiko Music Forest Museum. This area is the main venue for the Fujikawaguchiko Autumn Leaves Festival, held every November, so it's especially recommended to visit in the fall🍂

If you go further west from the museum area, you will find Oishi Park. The Park is a place where you can enjoy seasonal flowers and scenery throughout the year, and in autumn, the kochia flowers are at their best✨

If you're looking for souvenirs, head to " Travel Station Kawaguchiko Base"! There are lots of great souvenirs, including Yamanashi Prefecture specialties, local vegetables and fruits, and original products 😍There is also a food court, so it's a great place for lunch or a break✨

If you're planning a trip to Lake Kawaguchi, be sure to stay at Toyoko Inn Fuji Kawaguchiko Ohashi. 🏨Please use the shuttle bus from Kawaguchiko Station to the hotel. And, our Express Bus also run to the hotel from Otsuki, Gotemba, and Mishima🚌=3
The Express Bus is free and available exclusively to Toyoko Inn guests and Toyoko Inn Club Card members✨ Please feel free to use it!

3.Fujiyoshida City
If you want to take beautiful photos of Mt. Fuji, we recommend Fujiyoshida City! There is located at the foot of Mt. Fuji. You can see Mt. Fuji anytime you look up✨

First, here's a photo of the Kanadorii gate and Mt. Fuji near Mt. Fuji Station⛩ This place is usually very peaceful, though it's bustling during the Yoshida Fire Ceremony 🥰

The rooftop of the Mt. Fuji Station Building Q-STA is also a great spot for viewing Mt. Fuji. On the first floor, there is the souvenir shop "Gateway Fujiyama" and the "Yamanashi Hataori Travel MILL SHOP," which sells textiles, a specialty of Fujiyoshida, making it a great place to choose souvenirs👌

In front of the Station, there is the Fujiyoshida City Tourist Information Center. A stamp rally has started at the Fujiyoshida City Tourist Information Center in late August 2025! Purchase a cute stamp card (300 yen) at the tourist information center, and if you collect two or more stamps, you will receive a special sticker 😆

The stamps are available at three locations: the Fujiyoshida City Tourist Information Center in front of Mt. Fuji Station , the Oshimachi Rest Area , which is less than a 10 -minute walk from Mt. Fuji Station , and the Shimoyoshida Tourist Information Center , which is less than a 10-minute walk from either Gekkoji Station or Shimoyoshida Station . The staff at all of these centers are very friendly, so we recommend visiting them ♪

In front of the Shimoyoshida Tourist Center, you can take photos of Honcho Street overlooking Mt. Fuji, which became famous in the TV drama "Hot Spot." 📷 Please be mindful of safety when taking photos and be careful not to obstruct traffic.

If you head towards Shimoyoshida Station from the tourist information center , you will find Komuro Sengen Shrine .

Komuro Sengen Shrine raises horses, and every year on September 18th and 19th, the Yabusame(horseback archery) Festival is held🐴 The Festival is a time-honored Shinto ritual that has been carried out for over 800 years, and is a rare event in which misfortune is predicted by looking at the horses' footprints. In 2025, the festival will be held on the usual dates of September 18th (Thursday) and 19th (Friday), so please come and visit.

From Komuro Sengen Shrine, pass Shimoyoshida Station and walk for a while until you arrive at Arakurayama Sengen Park ⛩

It's no exaggeration to say that this is the most spectacular view in Japan. ✨If you climb the 398 steps to the observation deck, you can see the five-story pagoda and Mt. Fuji all at once! This park is also famous for its beautiful cherry blossoms in spring🌸 and autumn leaves in autumn🍂 Make the effort to climb up and enjoy the spectacular view🗻

The area around Mt. Fuji offers beautiful scenery in every season. From now until autumn, you can enjoy the scenery colored by red and yellow autumn leaves, so be sure to visit🍂
